Rumors circulating around popular urban brands have been around for years. Though most have been debunked that doesn’t stop big brands from using those myths as a marketing tactic.

Making a play off the rumor that the NBA initially banned Michael from playing in his Air Jordan 1, what was known as the Air Jordan 1 “Shadow Ban” has been dubbed “The Rebellionaire”. Reports from zsneakerheadz dig into the theme further, with all-over text that reads “They can not stop you from wearing them” — a direct reference to the aforementioned Banned ad campaign of 1985. It also features the famed Red X motifs at the heel seen on the 2011, Air Jordan 1 “Banned” though this is the pair’s only hit of red. Everything else arrives in a Shadow-like Black and Grey. Pairs are expected to arrive on March 12, 2022.
