Kanye West channels his inner Snoop Dogg on new Fivio Foreign feature ‘Concussion’
The most consistent yet surprising effect of the DONDA release has got to be the Fivio Foreign and Kanye West collabs. An unlikely collab deemed worthy of not being left off the EP that has bloomed into a beautiful relationship. Initially linking up on Kanye’s ‘Off The Grid’ this would be the third collab for the duo. Fivio was able to recruit Kanye and Alicia Keys for his previously released ‘City of Gods’ track. This time around Kanye opens up on Fivio Foreigns ‘Concussion’ single channeling his inner Snoop Dogg.
The east coast ain’t got no love for Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg? The east coast ain’t got no love for Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg and Death Row? Y’all don’t love us? Y’all don’t love us? Well, let it be known then! We know y’all east coast! We know where the fuck we at! East coast in the muthafucking house!
Teleporting himself back into 1995 Ye gets straight to the point with these opening bars.
“Yeah you know where we at/Yeah we know where we at/Ya’ll ain’t got no love for Snoop Dogg/Ya’ll ain’t go no love for Dr. Dre/Ya’ll ain’t got no love for Ye,”
With so much controversy surrounding the Kanye’s personal and business relationships, you could see why he feels this way. Once Ye gives the Microphone back to Fivio he opens up about the demons he’s been fighting while living the fast life.
“Cause I was young, even when I got older (Grr, baow)/Huh, and I got this demon on my shoulder (I do)/But I never see him when I’m sober (Nah)/If you catch me off the ’42, then it’s over (Baow)/One-nine, forty-two, then it’s over (Grr, baow)/State of mind, they cut the beast in the background/How I’m go run into opps where I’m at now?,”
Only thing left to wonder now is would Kanye let Snoop Dogg finish? Check out the track below.
