The Air Jordan 10 OG “Steel” will be re-released in 2025, featuring the classic White, Black, and Light Steel Grey color scheme. This version will have an enhanced build that closely resembles the original from 1994.
The Air Jordan 10, first released in 1994, is notable in sneaker history as it coincided with Michael Jordan’s brief departure from basketball to pursue a baseball career. Ironically this silhoutte was never retro’d into a cleat. Sotheby’s is auctioning a $15,000 “Player Sample,” finished in the Birmingham Barons’ color scheme.
The “Steel” colorway is known for its unique toe cap design, which distinguished it from other models upon its original release. However, this toe cap was removed in later versions, sparking debate among purists and collectors. Despite this controversy, the shoe’s sleek white and black leather upper with steel grey accents has kept it a favorite among sneaker enthusiasts.
The comeback of the “Steel” Air Jordan 10 features the classic white leather upper and the original toe cap, which was removed at Michael Jordan’s request. It will also include the dark powder blue Jumpman logo on the outsole, replacing the red version from later retros. Additionally, the outsole will showcase signature details reflecting Michael Jordan’s early career milestones, honoring the shoe’s rich history.
